The imperatives for competitiveness, security and resilience in EU agriculture.

Agriculture is central to the circular bioeconomy. But the sector is subject to pressures from different quarters. Farmers need to farm profitably to have decent livelihoods, but they also need to ensure the long-term viability of their farm enterprises and meet societal demands. Farmers also deal with an increasingly volatile climate and a turbulent economic background. Agriculture is starting to be recognised as part of Europe’s security architecture, whether in terms of feeding EU citizens or providing critical raw materials to industrial value chains. This year’s summit will explore how to ensure that these imperatives are mutually supportive.

The EBIC Summit brings together senior business leaders, policymakers, farmers, and other agrifood stakeholders to unleash the potential of European innovators to achieve ever more sustainable agriculture and food production. Our unique combination of highly interactive sessions and connecting people from across the agrifood ecosystem in new ways will spark strategic insights, forge new partnerships, and unveil fresh solutions to stubborn challenges.
